Children Run Christiansted foot race mix it up at jump up... 

5-3-2008--St. Croix, Virgin Islands--The V.I. Pace Runners announced today that it continued to celebrate its 30th Anniversary with the annual Children Run Christiansted foot race which kicks off the St.Croix Ironman 70.3 Triathlon Jump-Up, had  this year as there were over 80 registered runners.  

The first place finisher overall and first female was Dana Charles of Reading Rainbow.  Dana is 13 and ran the 630 meters from Sunday Market Square to the Customs House down King St. in 1 minute and 36 seconds.  The second place finisher and first male was Cameron Hess of Country Day School., his time was 1:39; Third and the second male was Quinton Harvey of Reading Rainbow with a time of 1:40; fourth and the second female was Jazimine Willock of the St.Croix Track Club in 1:40; fifth and the third place male was Curtis Walker of Country Day School in 1:41; sixth and the third place female was Geanaly Anslyn of Reading Rainbow in 1:42  

In the under 10 group, the first place finisher was D’Quan Daniel of the Hounds and Foxes Track Club in 1:52; second was Felix Denis of Church of God Holiness in 1:55; third was Jamari Daley Eulalie Rivera Elementary School in 2:02.  For the girls the first place finisher was Deneah Carr of Reading Rainbow in 2:03; second was Gabriel Killy  in 2:08; third was Domique Willock of St.Croix Track Club in 2:09.

V.I.PACE Bulletin  # 5-4-07  Results the 9th Children Run Christiansted—Hounds and Foxes and St. Croix Track Club runners put in great performances… 

May 4, 2007, St.Croix, Virgin Islands--Christopher Wilson of the Hounds and Foxes Track Club led a field of 60 plus children 13 and under and 9 and under from Sunday Market Square at the top of King St. to the Scale House in the National Park, the same route the finishers of the St. Croix Half-Ironman Triathlon will take on Sunday; Christopher the 630 meters in 1minute and 33 seconds.  Malique Smith of the St. Croix Track Club was the second place finisher over all and the first 9 and under runner in the race, his time  was 1:37; Christele Blanc of HFTC was the first female finisher and third place overall, her time was 1:39.9;  Karen Dascent of the St. Croix Track Clube was the second place female in the 13 and under group with a time of 1:41; Kahlid Behamon of Iqra Academy was the second place finisher in the  13 and under boys group in 1:42.2; Jasmine Willocks  of the HFTC was the third place female 13 and under girls in 1:43.6 and Cameron Hoss of St.Croix Country Day School was the third place boy in 1:47.8  

Malique Smith was followed by Barthalemy Peter of the Church of God Holiness School for second place in the 9 and under boys, his time was 1:47.0; third place went Shayquan Grant of the HFTC in 1:49.4.  For the girls 9 and under, Shamiyah Burke of HFTC was the first place finisher in 1:52.8; second place went to Mikaela Smith of the SCTC in2:01.8 and Anna Robacker of CDS was third in 2:07.1. 

The runners ages ranged from 3 years to 13.  Hundreds of onlookers gearing up for the Jump Up cheered the group as they made their way to finish. The race distance is 630 meters.

April 30, 2005, St. Croix, Virgin Islands--Samantha Smith of The St.Croix Country Day School was the first runner to cross the finish line in the 7th Annual Children Run Christiansted Foot Race with a time 1 minute and 44 seconds over the 630meter race.  Kalif Gerard was the first male to finish with a time of 1:49.  The race for children under 13, kicked off the Triathlon Jump Up and gave the youngsters the opportunity to be real part of the triathlon weekend as they stopped the traffic and attracted spectators along the race route from Sunday Market Square to the Scale House in Christiansted, the finish route for Sundays Half-Ironman Triathlon.  The youngest runners were Chenille Hendricks and Logan Harris both 3 years old.

Taylor and Joseph Victorious in The Children Run Christiansted

May 1, 2003, St. Croix, Virgin Islands--Mackiesh Taylor was the overall winner of the 5th Annual Children Run Christiansted road race.  In addition she was the 13 and under girls category winner in a time of 1 minute and 30 seconds.   Anika Grant was second in 1:41 and Semantha Smith was third in 1:53.  Second place overall and 13 and under boys category was Kendall Joseph in a time of 1:37; Dustin Kendricks was second in 1:46 and Will Piel was third in 1:54.  In the under 10 category for girls, the first place finisher was Adiana Grant in 2:01; second was Misah Edwards in 2:37 and third was Anna Ruth Bernhardt in 2 44.  In the under 10 category for boys, Alex Bradbury was first in 1:48; Karem Murell second in 1:52 and Uriah Edwards third in 1:54. The distance for the race is 630 meters.

Troyson Raymond Defends his Children Run Title  

May 3, 2002, St. Croix, Virgin Islands---The Children Run Christiansted, a 630 meter run down King St. in Historic Christiansted and the same route the top triathletes in the world will run to the finish of the Half-Ironman Triathlon on Sunday,.  Troyson Raymond took the honors for 13 and under boys for the second year in a row and ran a very fast 1 minute and 29 seconds. Nine year old Allison Peter, her first time in the race, was the first female to finish  and the second finisher overall, in a time of 1:45.  Amallee Thompson took second place for the boys in 2:03;  Chelcie Goldman took first place for the girls 13 and under in 1:47; Shamica Thomas was third in 1:57.  Alex Bradbury won the 9 and under boys race in 1:58, Jelani Rollins was second ain 2:04 and Joseph Thomas was third in 2:14.  Skei Swanston was the second place finisher for girls 9 and under in 2:31; Bren Goldman was third in 2:35.
