This race is run on a flat and fast out-and-back course on route #64 which parallels the runway of the airport once named after Alexander Hamilton who grew up on St. Croix and was the first Treasury Secretary of the USA and who’s image is on the $10 bill (the airport is now named Henry Rohlsen Airport born in St. Croix and was a Tuskegee Airman) ...the race is inspired by V.I. record holder for numerous distance races, Billy Bohlke V.I. veteran military and commercial pilot...who frequently runs the race between flights and has won it more than once...
